Privacy Policy – VeeTaxi Driver App

This Privacy Policy explains how VeeTaxi collects, uses, stores and shares personal information relating to drivers who use the App. Using the App constitutes your agreement to this Policy.

1. Data Controller

VeeTaxi, operating in Israel, is the Data Controller under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law 5741-1981 ("Privacy Law"). For privacy enquiries: privacy@veetaxi.com.

2. Information We Collect

Provided directly by the Driver:

• Full name, mobile phone number, email address.
• Driving licence number and taxi licence number.
• Country of residence/operation.
• Selected payment plan and related financial account information.

Collected automatically:

• Real-time GPS location (background) while the Driver is "Online".
• Device details: model, OS, app version, unique device identifier for push notifications.
• Ride history: origin, destination, duration, fare.
• Usage data: session times, errors, general usage patterns.

From third parties:

• Firebase OTP authentication (phone number only; Firebase provides no additional data).

3. Background GPS Location

This data is essential for the Service to function. While the Driver is Online, the App continuously collects background GPS data for:

• Displaying the Driver's position to nearby passengers.
• Calculating and displaying Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA).
• Ride route monitoring for safety and trip integrity.
• Storing records for dispute resolution between drivers and passengers.

Location data is never sold, used for targeted advertising, or shared with law enforcement except under a legal obligation.

Historical location data is retained for 90 days then automatically deleted, unless longer retention is required for an active legal proceeding.

When the Driver goes Offline, location collection stops immediately and completely.

4. Biometric Authentication

The App offers optional device lock via fingerprint or Face ID. Importantly:

• All biometric data is stored exclusively in the device's secure hardware (Secure Enclave / TEE).
• VeeTaxi does not receive, process, store or transmit biometric data in any form.
• Use of biometric unlock is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time.

5. Bip&Talk - Private Communication

Bip&Talk enables voice, video and audio clip communication between the Driver and passenger without exposing either party's phone number.

• Both parties must consent before any communication session begins.
• Sent audio and video clips are stored in encrypted secure storage (AES-256).
• Clips are automatically deleted after 30 days from the date of sending.
• Access is restricted exclusively to the participants of that ride.
• VeeTaxi does not listen to or view recordings except where required to investigate a formal complaint and in accordance with applicable law.

6. How We Use Your Information

• Operating the platform: identity verification, ride matching, account management.
• Safety: real-time ride monitoring, detecting anomalous trips, emergency assistance.
• Customer service and dispute resolution.
• Service improvement: anonymous and aggregated usage analysis only.
• Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Sending essential service communications (confirmations, alerts, policy updates).

7. Sharing Your Information

VeeTaxi does not sell personal data. Information may be shared only in the following cases:

• With passengers: driver name, vehicle model and licence plate, real-time location - for identification and safety only.
• With service providers: cloud infrastructure, payment processing and analytics providers - under confidentiality obligations.
• Law enforcement: only when legally required by a court order or applicable statute.
• Business transfer: in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, with equivalent privacy protections maintained.

After these periods, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

9. Your Rights

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law 5741-1981, you have the right to:

• Access: obtain a copy of all data held about you.
• Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure: request deletion of data (subject to legal retention obligations).
• Restriction: request limited processing in certain circumstances.
• Portability: receive your data in machine-readable format.
• Lodge a complaint: with the Israeli Law, Information and Technology Authority (ILITA).

10. Security

VeeTaxi implements appropriate security measures including:

• Encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3).
• Role-based access control (RBAC) - access to driver data limited to personnel with a need-to-know.
• Access monitoring and audit logging.
• Periodic penetration testing.

In the event of a security breach affecting personal data, VeeTaxi will notify affected drivers and the relevant authority as required by law.

11. GDPR - Drivers in the EU/EEA

If you reside in an EU/EEA member state, additional rights under the GDPR apply, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Analytics and Tracking

The App itself does not use cookies. Third-party services such as Firebase Analytics may collect anonymous usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

13. Policy Changes

VeeTaxi may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified at least 14 days in advance via in-app notification and/or SMS. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
